The City maintains a contract with Waste Management for garbage and recycling collection. The City also contracts with North Pointe Solid Waste Special Service District for dumping costs related to garbage, dump passes, and spring cleanup dumpsters. The City provides billing and coordination services for both garbage and recycling utilities.
As of May 1, 2024, Waste Management increased recycling and garbage costs by 5.4% plus $1.30 per tote. These increases will reflect on July’s utility bill. In addition, North Pointe anticipates increasing their dumping costs to all cities in January 2025, which will increase the City’s cost for servicing garbage and totes accordingly. The table below shows the new pricing effective July 1st.
